The Reusspark is located picturesque at the bend of the Reuss River, about 2 km north of Niederwil, on the grounds of the former Gnadenthal Abbey. The nature-oriented park with the largest dementia garden in Switzerland, a greenhouse, a small animal park, and other attractions on the grounds offers a unique environment for residents and visitors. The modernized abbey building preserves historical elements (including a museum), while the two other buildings provide contemporary, friendly infrastructure. Here, 300 residents, including (younger) individuals with dementia, geriatric, and geronto-psychiatric conditions, find a home with a wide range of services. A proprietary daycare center, an indoor swimming pool, the spacious park with two playgrounds, and the Reuss River right outside the door offer not only an attractive environment for families with children but also draw young adults - as for example the “Rüssböötler" - with their friends. This creates a lively, everyday intergenerational mix at the Reusspark.
